This is a Crimean Tatar women’s festive costume from the late 19th – early 20th century. It consists of a white chemise called “keten kölmek”, baggy trousers, soft leather shoes with gold embroidery called “terlikler”, a lovely dress called “çabuvlı anter”, an elaborate necklace made in filigree technique called “qaside” that has a tiny casing to put a prayer in, a pearl necklace, an extremely ornate traditional belt with a huge belt buckle, a fez headdress, also ornate and costly, folk jewelry (rings, bracelet, earrings), a jacket with short sleeves and gold needlework called “beltön”, a white embroidered veil with her headpiece called “marama”. Crimean Tatar girls traditionally wore their hair plaited in two braids.
