Embroidered male shirts are very popular in Ukraine today. But in museums, there are many vintage shirts from 20th, 19th, 18th, and 17th centuries. Modern Ukrainian male embroidered shirt with whitework. It is made from linen and embellished with pretty embroidery patterns. In Ukraine, it is called “vyshyvanka”. Such shirts are in use and rather popular today.

Rare vintage men’s shirt in mint shape, western Ukraine, the late 19th – early 20th century. Usually, male embroidered shirts had small amounts of embroidery, but this one is comparatively richly embellished. Also, it is rather long – it would reach almost to the knees.

Curious embroidery pattern on vintage men’s shirt. Central Ukraine, the early 20th century. Whitework, openwork, and other embroidery techniques are used to create this cute design. You can see a few buttons at the side of the shirtfront to help put it on, as the collar is a stand-up one and comparatively narrow. The cuff is also adorned with magnificent embroidery.

Male vintage embroidered shirt from Ukraine, the first half of the 20th century. This particular shirt (it is called “vyshyvanka” in Ukraine) belonged to the world-famous dancer, choreographer, balletmaster, and actor Vasyl Avramenko (1895-1981) and is stored in a museum.

Beautiful embroidery pattern on vintage male shirt from Chernihiv region of Ukraine, the late 19th – early 20th century. This design is very archaic and looks wonderful.

Rarity – vintage embroidered male shirt in great condition, northern Ukraine, the early 20th century. There are few men’s embroidered shirts from the 19th – early 20th century that survived to this day. This one is a lovely museum exhibit from the Museum of Ethnography and Crafts in Lviv, Ukraine.
