Legong is a Balinese dance that is characterized by intricate finger movements, complicated footwork, and expressive gestures and facial expressions. It was a royal entertainment in the 19th century. Traditionally, legong dancers were young girls who haven’t reached puberty yet. Today, any woman in Indonesia can practice this dance.
