Ecuadorian folk accessories

The process making traditional Ecuadorian straw hats called “toquilla”. These hats are hand-woven from palm fibers (a plant called “toquilla palm” or “jipijapa palm”). But the process of weaving and finishing the toquillas surprisingly is more complicated than you would think.
