Weaving loom of Ancient Greece (reconstruction)

Ukrainian vintage wooden loom. It has only 2 pedals. But you can weave different colorful cloths on it, even rather thick one. Most of its parts are wooden, only some are metal.

Vintage wooden weaving loom (the mid-end of the 19th century) in detail. It is handmade and has a lot of charming details. This loom is rather complicated, it has 8 pedals and an intricate system of sheaves, so it allows to create very complicated and multicolored patterns.

Reconstruction of an ancient vertical weaving loom used by people of the Cucuteni-Trypillia culture (appr. 4800-3000 B.C.). You can see simple loom weights made of clay that served to hold the warp threads taut on a loom. Also, a stick serves as a shuttle. The loom is very primitive, but just imagine, this construction is at least 5,000 years old. It’s from Ukraine, Vinnytsia Regional Museum of Local History.
