The male and female folk costumes of Latvia. This couple is folk dancers. The woman is wearing a traditional belt typical for the Baltic countries (Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia). Weaving belts and bands is one of the ancient crafts in these countries. The color and pattern of such belts usually have a symbolic meaning.

Latvian traditional woolen shawls. These two examples are richly adorned with embroidery. Also, you can see a large silver brooch called “sakta” that pins the ends of a shawl

Latvian man and woman dressed in national clothing. The man looks very aristocratic, while the female costume looks more like a folk dress. And her high headdress would serve good to short women)).

Beautiful Latvian female costume. Of course, you can’t miss the shawl – traditional Latvian garment. There are dozens of shawl designs according to the region of origin. This particular shawl looks great!
