The traditional Ukrainian headdress used by married women is called “ochipok”. It is a kind of bonnet or a tight-fitting skull cap. It covers the hair and keeps it in place. The Kerchief is worn on top of ochipok; females seldom wore ochipok alone. But nevertheless, this headgear is often richly embroidered and decorated.
