The embroidering tradition in Palestine is very old and developed. A century ago, Palestinian women used to make all of their clothing at home. Most of the garments were decorated with embroidery. Girls started to learn the craft of embroidery since 7 years old. Nowadays, of course, people don’t have to make outfits themselves, but many women still keep the tradition of hand embroidering their clothing.
