Mexican traditional costume surprised me with its embroidery – simple but very cute. The clothing itself is simple and modest, too. I’ve always thought about Mexican garments as bright, festive, and passionate ones. This is new to me. What about you? What do you think about Mexican folk dress?

Mexican ceremonial attire and ribboned hat called “lixton pixolal”, Chiapas region of Mexico. Such headdresses made from palm fiber and adorned with colorful ribbons are used by religious and civil officials for special occasions.

Mexican folk dancers. They’re wearing ponchos and costumes embroidered with Mexican traditional needlework. These cross-stitch patterns depict animals and flowers in Mexican style. And also, you can see their shoes – traditional huarache sandals.

Traditional clothing from Oaxaco, Mexico. The girl’s starched white lace headdress is lovely. It defines the whole look. On the other hand, the boy’s attire is very simple and practical.
